- Prior to breaking the pattern pieces from the backing, remove the paper/plastic facing
- Lay the pattern map and plastic pattern pages on your workbench or table to get a general overview of the pattern pieces
- Start breaking the pattern pieces from the plastic pages (start with the largest pieces) remove the small connecting tabs with an exacto knife or sand paper
- Assemble the pattern pieces to match the pattern map - use the numbers on the pattern pieces to match the numbers on the pattern map
- Choose wood pieces by color and thickness and start tracing the desired pattern pieces on the choosen wood. Hint- A mechanical pencil seems to work well as the line thickness remains contant and tight to the patterns.
- Take your time and press the pattern tightly to the wood
- Don't let the pattern piece move. If the piece moves, erase the line and start over
* hint: holding each piece with two fingers seems to work the best
- Cut your choosen wood pieces on the outside edge of the pencil line. Cut all of your pieces and start the fitting process. * hint: Accurate cutting creates better fitting pieces and better looking work.
